CESARE VERONA, CHAIRMAN OF AURORA PENNE ASSIGNED THE TITLE OF “CAVALIERE DEL LAVORO”

Monday, 30 May 2022. Today, Sergio Mattarella The President of the Italian Republic signed the decrees appointing 25 new Cavalieri del Lavoro (Knights of Labour).

Prominent among the nominations is Cesare Verona, Chairman of Aurora Pens, representing, as indicated by the Presidency, artisan craftsmanship and particularly the production of Fountain Pens.

“Today’s news represents the recognition of a life’s Family fully dedicated to business. I feel great satisfaction as well as strong emotions. This title is for me a powerful message which I dedicate to the new generations. Our company is committed to the enhancement of fine craftsmanship, work that represents an expression of the most authentic Excellence of the Made in Italy, of beauty and high-quality manufacturing. This means that the values of tradition can be sustained and proposed with an eye on the future, proving to be very successful all over the world” says Cesare Verona.

Verona’s Family represents the fourth generation of the family involved in the management of the oldest manufacturer of writing instruments, established in Turin in 1919, with 100% of production Made in Italy.

When he joined Aurora in 1993, following a series of managerial experiences in Italy and abroad, Cesare Verona brought a new managerial style and unprecedented vision to the company, with the collaboration of Edolinda Di Fonzo (Sales and Creative Director) who created a new vision in the Pen Industry . Verona extensively reorganised the company and began steering production towards high-end, limited series and custom-made editions. The Verona/Di Fonzo era also heralded the opening up of foreign markets, which now account for around 75% of the company’s turnover.

Some of the most iconic collections changed their face with colour as an element of innovation and modernity, while respecting tradition. Verona’s winning choices include the desire not to decentralise production and to keep the total production in-house in Turin.

“For every entrepreneur, the title of “Cavaliere” represents the highest honor received in relation to business. I am sure that my great-grandfather is proud today , and with him the whole family, which for me today also includes all of our staff who have accompanied us on this journey for decades. Today is a celebration for the whole of Aurora” adds Verona.

Cesare Verona’s genuine passion for fine writing and collecting pens has expanded and taken shape over the years, with the creation of Officina della Scrittura, the world’s first museum dedicated to writing. Officina della Scrittura takes its place next to the premises of Aurora: a unique museum, a perfect mix of technology and tradition that narrates, excites, informs and speaks to a public of all ages, posing cultural, educational and popular goals
