Hyderabad Pen Show 2026
Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore – all have or had their pen shows. Hyderabad, with its rich tradition of fountain pen turning and an equally thriving market of end-users, was therefore keen to break the jinx, something that it achieved with the successful completion of the Hyderabad Pen Show 2026 on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October, 2026.
Shreyas Yedla, dedicated fountain pen head and one of the four who organised the show, said, “We wanted to ensure that the event does not lose its focus on the enthusiasts and collectors, and stop it from becoming a wholly commercialised display of lifeless pens, inks, and accessories. That is why, while we had 24 exhibitors who showcased more than 1000 products from more than 100 brands, we also had 16 workshops over 2 days by professional calligraphers, handwriting experts, artists, fountain pen enthusiasts and an ink swatching enthusiast.”

Keeping in view the need to attract more youngsters not only to pick up the fountain pen and ink, but also to write with their own hands, the organisers took another novel step in the right direction by introducing a commemorative student kit, which comprised of a fountain pen, a bottle of ink and a notebook with FP-friendly paper at an invitational price of Rs 200. Proving them right, the packs were completely sold out.
Another highlight of the Hyderabad Pen Show 2026 was a dinner that sought to bring the community together to bond over a meal. The dinner was preceded by a special felicitation of Poona Lakshmipathy of PLP Pens for his long-standing commitment and continuing contribution to the fountain pen community.
Shreyas Yedla continued, “We are overwhelmed by the response. Visitors included seasoned fountain pen users, curious people exploring the world of FPs, students from schools and colleges, doctors, lawyers, judges, chartered accountants, journalists, techies and professionals from a wide spectrum of fields. There was genuinely good response from the community – both sellers and buyers. However, what made us the happiest was the unprecedented enthusiasm that was generated about handwriting and the introductory FP workshops. We would endeavour to take these
initiatives further.”
L Subramaniam of ASA pens, one of the key figures of the fountain pen and ink community, expressed his satisfaction with the glitch-less way in which the Hyderabad Pen Show was organised, happy that the latent demand for fountain pens in the region could be addressed professionally. It will not be out of place to mention here that the limited-availability passes for special entry and goodie bags were sold out within the first 4 hours of the show’s opening; such was the enthusiasm on the ground.
