These pens range in price from US$4500 to US$6500 and are Maki-e pens with extensive use of Raden craft. The collection was introduced in 2022-23. The other pen from the series that has made it to the coveted list of nominations is an elegantly crafted Maki-e Lacquer Art rendition of two golden Carps enraptured in a romantic moment as they glide through undulating waves of deep luminescent waters. Crafted in brilliant Urushi colors with a mirror like shine, this masterpiece exemplifies Maki-e techniques using gold powders and Raden craft with crushed Abalone shells, which work together to craft a fine writing instrument, offered in various gold nib grades.
